Our Classes

Ballet

The method of ballet taught at our school is the Royal Academy of Dancing, one of the world’s most influential dance education organizations.

Jazz

Jazz has become one of the most popular dance styles. The dancing is fun and energetic and enjoyable to watch.

Tap

Our TAP classes follow the A.DA.P.T. syllabus, a certified dance syllabus offering yearly examinations in the dance disciplines of Tap and Jazz.

Kinderdance

Kinderdance is an energetic and fun introduction to ballet involves co-ordination & rhythm exercises, music appreciation & mime for children 3-4yrs.

Tiny Tots

Hip-Hop

Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture.

Acrobatics

Students learn acrobatic tricks such as handstands, cartwheels, chest stands, elbow stands, walkovers, side and front aerials and tumbling.

Contemporary

Contemporary is anything current. It’s more of a style, but rooted in technique, because it’s a fusion of several techniques—ballet, jazz, modern.

Lyrical

Lyrical dance is characterized by fluidity and grace. It gets a message across using lots of emotion. Lyrical is not as fast as jazz, but faster than ballet.

Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre is a Broadway style, jazz-based class that blends music, acting, and dancing to tell a story. Students build on their performance skills and theatrical expression.

Progressing Ballet Technique

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program that has been designed to enhance students’ technique by focusing on training the muscle memory required in each exercise in all forms of dance.

Stretch and Strength

Stretch and strength class is designed to increase control, flexibility and strength of all dancers. Flexibility is one of the most important aspects of dance training, since dancers’ bodies are under constant demand to maintain a degree of flexibility.

Workshops

We offer year-round workshops and camps for young children, seasoned dancers, adults and teachers.

Alixa Flexibility

Alixa Flexibility teaches stretching foundations that help protect the body for life while building more body awareness.

  • I attended Leeming DanceWorks for 20 years, first as a little dancer and later as a teacher. I cannot express how grateful I am to have been a part of this community. Not only did I learn technique, I learnt dedication and commitment, and gained confidence that continues to positively impact my career and life to date. Sharon is an incredible teacher and mentor. I highly recommend the studio and look forward to enrolling my little one for classes in such an encouraging environment.

  • Although I was never a dancer myself, I have a lot of respect for the world of dancers and all of the wonderful things that come with it. Camille and Léah have grown to be great and extremely well rounded young ladies and dance has played a significant role in all of this for many reasons. It was my pleasure to help with fundraising and all the rehearsals. Everyone benefited and we as parents had lots of fun doing it as well - Some great team bonding time! I have absolutely nothing bad to say, I will definitely cherish every little bit of it.

  • Leeming DanceWorks was my second home growing up, and I simply can’t imagine the person I would be today if I hadn't had the experiences that I did thanks to the studio. Thank you so much and wishing you all the best in years to come.
