Meet the Team

Sharon Leeming Mann; R.A.D., A.D.A.P.T., I.S.T.D.

Sharon is a diverse & talented teacher & choreographer who started her teaching career in dance in 1973. Her choreography has received numerous Overall Awards, including the Top Production Trophy for 10 years in a row & many of her students have won Dancer of the
Year titles in regional & national competitions of both Candance & the American Dance Awards. One of her students won Junior Miss Candance for North America in 2008 and 2010, America’s Junior Dancer of the Year 2010 and Teen Miss Candance 2012. Another held the title of America’s Teen Male Dancer of the Year 2011. 2 students won Junior Miss Candance and Senior Miss Candance North America in 2014 and the most recent award was the National One Shot Senior Soloist Title for 2016 won in Atlantic City.
Former students have performed as backup dancers for Lady Gaga, in Cirque du Soleil’s Love in Las Vegas, and in the lead role of Wicked, San Fransisco and Mary Poppins on Broadway, and a lead role in Jersey Boys and Canada’s So You Think You Can Dance top 12 dancers. Other shows include Dirty Dancing, Lion King, Mama Mia, Hairspray, (Toronto) and 42nd Street, Saturday Night Fever, Boy From Oz and Oklahoma on Broadway and in the movies Chicago, Hairspray and Honey. Still others are dancing in Toyko Disney, in Stratford, Ontario, on cruise ships or have forged their own career as dance teachers.
Mrs. Leeming Mann is a Full Member & Registered Teacher of the Royal Academy of Dancing & a Full Member of the Canadian Dance Teachers Association. Sharon holds the Advanced Certificates with Honours of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in both National & Modern Dance & is an Accredited Teacher with the Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers.
Since 1993 she has had the privilege of adjudicating dance competitions across Canada & the United States for such associations as the American Dance Awards, Candance, Fever, Rhythm, Dance Canada, On Stage, C.D.T.A., the Peel Festival & the Wild Rose Festival. She is a former competitive gymnast & has performed in many dance & theatre productions. Sharon is a graduate of the Canadian College of Dance, Ryerson University, Toronto & founded Leeming Danceworks in 1989.

  • Emily Leger
      Emily LegerContemporary

      Emily began dancing at the age of 3, attending several different studios across New Brunswick and Alberta before moving to her now permanent residence of Ottawa, where she began in competitive dance. She joined Leeming DanceWorks’ competitive team in 2010, continuing training in ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop, as well as contemporary, improvisation and training in A.D.A.P.T. and R.A.D. syllabuses. Emily prides herself in her involvement in the Ottawa Dance Community, organizing and participating in dance events across the city, as well as contributing to Dancers Give Back Ottawa as an ambassador and performer among other roles. She performed her first self-choreographed solo at the age of 15, and has gone on to choreograph and co-choreograph a number of works with great success, winning overall awards and special awards at various dance competitions. Emily is now training in the post-secondary contemporary dance program at The School of Dance, and thrilled to be a part of the Leeming DanceWorks faculty. She is eager to share her artistry and ability to tell a story through movement, providing a space for exploration, growth and creative thinking for younger dancers.

    • Dominic Prud’homme 
        Dominic Prud’homme Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap

        Dominic is an alumni from Leeming DanceWorks. At Leeming DanceWorks, he trained in contemporary, tap, jazz, ballet and hip hop. Leeming DanceWorks was where he started assisting, teaching and choreographing. He graduated from Canterbury Arts High School, where he trained in Ballet and Modern, with a minor focus on composition.  He has taken intensive workshops such as Dancefuzion, Alvin Ailey, FRESH, Paula Morgan, Movement Invention Project (MIP), Tapperfest and many other workshops in New York City and Toronto. In October 2013, Prud’homme performed in the Arts Under 20 Show: Fill up and Get out, a contemporary dance show with an interactive gallery directed and choreographed by Emma Portner and Jade Whitney, in Toronto, ON. Dominic Studied at Point Park University for 3 years, majoring in dance with a concentration in modern and jazz. There he had the opportunity to perform works by Nicholas Petrov, Keisha Lalama, Garfield Lemonius, Ruben Graciani, David Parsons, Lar Lubovitch, Jessica Hendricks and Madboots Dance. He was also part of the faculty of Fresh Dance Intensive, directed and founded by David Norsworthy. In the Summer of 2016, Dominic jump started Beyond Movement Dance Intensive, alongside Madeline Wright, which is a dance-based laboratory for growing and curious artists, which will be continuing in 2017-2018. Dominic is looking forward to returning to his home base to teach and share his experiences with the dancers of Leeming DanceWorks.

      • Rea Demers Colombi
          Rea Demers ColombiBallet, Lyrical, Tap

          Rea Demers Colombi has been dancing at Leeming danceworks for over 14 years. She has trained extensively in ballet, jazz, tap lyrical and contemporary. She has completed her RAD Advanced 1 ballet exam and her ADAPT Intermediate 3 Jazz and Tap. Since the age of 7, she has been part of the competitive team and has won several regional titles. Rea continues to develop her skills by attending various dance conventions, workshops and classes. Rea has been a teacher’s assistant since 2010 and is very proud to be part of the Leeming Staff Team. She is enjoying sharing her joy of dance and techniques with young dancers

        • Sofia Ferrarotto
            Sofia FerrarottoJazz, SoFIT

            Sofia is a professional dancer and aerialist, full member of the RAD (Ballet) and ADAPT Adv. Jazz & Tap. She trained for 15 years at the Greta Leeming Studio of Dance & during that time won 3 National titles for American Dance Awards & Candance. Sofia has since worked for Tokyo Disney Japan, Celebrity Cruises, Sands Casino Macau China, & trained with Cirque du Soleil. She has worked professionally in music videos, commercials, tv & magazine ads. Sofia is now the director of her own Fitness Studio: “SoFIT Health & Wellness” where she does personal training, nutrition consulting, pre & post natal training, personalized meal plans, group fitness classes as well as sports specific classes for dancers.

          • Kathy Giamberardino
              Kathy GiamberardinoBallet, Jazz, Tap

              Kathy started her dance training at the age of 4 in Ottawa, Ontario at Greta Leeming Studio of Dance where she was part of a successful competitive team. During this time, she studied the RAD ballet syllabus, as well as the A.D.A.P.T jazz and tap syllabus, completing her Advanced Levels in both Tap and Jazz.  Over the years Kathy has taught and choreographed for Greta Leeming Studio of Dance, Applause Dance Studio and Leeming Danceworks. Kathy’s choreography had received high scores and awards, including American Dance Awards Overall High Score Recreation for “Strange People” in 2008.

            • Jade Lim Tung
                Jade Lim TungHip Hop, Tap

                Jade studied ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop and contemporary at Leeming Danceworks for 11 years and joined the competitive team in 2007. Jade has successfully completed the ADAPT Pre-Intermediate 3 jazz and tap exams, as well as the RAD Intermediate ballet exam. Since graduating, Jade has continued to expand her knowledge as a part of Carleton University’s competitive team, ‘Ravens Dance Pak’, and hip hop crew. She has trained, rehearsed and choreographed for Leeming Danceworks’ competitive students in tap, hip hop and contemporary since 2013, and is very excited to continue to share her passion with young dancers in the coming year!

              • Jasmine Lim Tung
                  Jasmine Lim TungHip Hop, Kinderdance, Tap

                  Jasmine began dancing at Leeming Danceworks at the age of 4, and was a member of the competitive team for 10 years. During this time, she danced in numerous high score and diamond winning numbers and participated in winning the National Championships. Her collaboration in choreography produced the overall high score winning duo/trio at 2 major competitions in 2016. She graduated from Canterbury High School with a Fine Arts Certificate in Dance, with Distinction. Jasmine was part of the Canterbury Dance Company for two years, receiving choreography and production training. Jasmine has trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and Modern. She has successfully completed the Royal Academy of Dance Vocational Graded Examination, Intermediate Ballet Level 3 Certificate, and the Associated Dance Arts Professional Teachers Certificates in Pre-Intermediate 3 Jazz and Tap, and has also completed leadership training and attended numerous dance conventions. Jasmine is thrilled to be on the Leeming Danceworks Faculty, and is looking forward sharing her knowledge and instilling a love of dance in her students.

                • Ashley Noel
                    Ashley NoelBallet

                    Born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, Ashley began her dance training when she was four years old. At 12, she was accepted to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, Professional Division, and studied there for six years until her graduation in 2001. Ashley made her professional debut with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet in the fall of 2001, and had the opportunity to perform ballets such as “Giselle”, “The Sleeping Beauty”, “Swan Lake”, and “The Nutcracker” during her time there. In 2002, Ashley had the honour of performing for HRH Queen Elizabeth II, during Her Majesty’s celebration of her Golden Jubilee. 

                    Ashley has performed in New York City as a Soloist with Eryc Taylor Dance, The New Dance Group, Janusphere Dance Company, Terra Firma Dance Theater, and Continuum Contemporary Ballet, in Connecticut with The Connecticut Ballet, in Toronto with Ontario Ballet Theatre, and as a Principal with Willow Oak Contemporary Ballet in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

                  • Lauren O’Neill
                      Lauren O’NeillContemporary, Jazz

                      Dancing since the age of 3, Lauren has trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Contemporary. Lauren joined the Leeming Danceworks competitive team in 2009 and became a faculty member in 2012. She furthered her Ballet and Modern training at Canterbury High School where she received a fine arts certificate. She has successfully completed her Intermediate A.D.A.P.T Jazz and Tap exams as well as received a distinction on her Advanced 1 R.A.D Ballet exam. She assisted for FRESH dance intensive, working with choreographers such as Kristen Carcone and David Northsworthy. Lauren also had the opportunity to assist and perform at Dancers Give Back Ottawa. She went on to choreograph competitive pieces for Leeming Danceworks as well as dance and choreograph for two years on the Carleton University Dance Team. Lauren enjoys sharing her unique movement qualities and creating an atmosphere for growth and exporation for young dancers.

                    • Gillian Werthner
                      Gillian WerthnerBallet, Kinderdance

                      Gillian began dancing at Greta Leeming Studio of Dance at the age of 3. She moved to Leeming Danceworks in 2000 to continue training in ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop and contemporary and joined the competitive team in 2003. She has trained under the A.D.A.P.T. Jazz and Tap syllabus, and completed her R.A.D Advanced 1 Ballet exam. In the past 9 years, she has assisted, taught, rehearsed and choreographed for Leeming Danceworks. Gillian completed her undergrad in Theatre and Psychology as well has her B.Ed in Primary/Junior. She worked full-time in Toronto at a child care centre and currently teaches for the Ottawa Catholic School Board. Gillian brings her knowledge, experience and passion for teaching young students to her classes.

                    • Keri Woodside
                        Keri WoodsideJazz, Tap, Stretch

                        Keri began dancing at the early age of 3, training extensively in all disciplines including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Acro & Lyrical/Contemporary dance at Performing Dance Arts in Woodbridge, Ontario under the direction of Debbie Noce & Danny Poland and Brian & Faye Foley. She continued her training and completed her competitive dance career at Elite Danceworx in Markham, Ontario under the direction of Dawn Rappitt.

                        Keri has been teaching and choreographing in the Greater Toronto Area for over 15 years. During that time, she has been recognized at various competitions for her outstanding and unique choreography as well as her ability to teach perfected technique and performance skills. Keri offers a strong background in the development of an excellent technical foundation, showing an expertise specifically in the mini, junior and intermediate divisions. Keri is thrilled to be teaching in Ottawa and excited to continue teaching with the remarkable team at Leeming Danceworks.
